Everyone in Bristol knows that the highway code rule about parking near (or opposite) junctions is one of those dream world rules that don't survive contact with the reality of the city. They are parking rules that you need to remember for the duration of you driving test, and then forget. Because that 50 feet of parking space by every junction is valuable space, space that is utterly essential to parking in the city. Here, for example, if the car had parked a bit forward, the driver might have had to walk further.
