Kingsdown without cars

A strange event occurred a few weeks back -there was a stretch of Kingsdown without cars one Saturday.

It gives a hint, just a vague hint, of what the city must have looked like 150-200 years ago. Except back in those days there would have been horses belonging to us tax payers, and it would have been the poor pedestrians holding us up. The Association of British Horseriders would have been the pressure group that represented the needs of important road users.

It's just a fluke that there are no cars here, but it is interesting to see.
