Here is one unexpected consequence of people not being able to drive around or into the city: parking spaces.
The top half of Cotham Hill, is running at 20% occupancy
While lower down, there is a whole stretch of short-stay parking that normally has long-stay cars, today it is occupied by only one vehicle, less than 10% occupancy.
This may have adverse effects on shopping trade -it is the duty of all pedestrians to nip into the Penny Farthing or other pub and order a double G&T to make up for the loss in passing motorist trade.
