Designing user interfaces and web signs for colour blindness is a common best practise: you don't rely on the ability to distinguish red and green as the sole way to navigate a site, as red/green blindness is very common. What we have here, yellow/black blindness, is much rarer. There is little that can be done to mitigate it, though London try with their red-marked lanes.
